What EinWort Does
EinWort helps users learn German vocabulary through a daily word, saved words, custom words, collections, spaced-repetition review, pronunciation, and optional notifications.
Information We Collect
Account information
The App signs users in anonymously with Firebase Authentication so learning progress can be stored and associated with one user account. Users may optionally sign in with Google to sync their progress across devices.
If you sign in with Google, we may receive and process your name or display name, email address, Firebase/Google account identifier, and profile photo URL if provided by Google. If you use the App anonymously, we process a Firebase anonymous user identifier.
Learning data and user-created content
The App stores learning-related information in Firebase Cloud Firestore, including saved word IDs; review progress, repetition count, easiness score, interval, and next review date; user-created custom German words, translations, examples, and notes; and user-created collections, collection names, descriptions, and timestamps.
App settings stored on your device
The App stores some preferences locally, including theme, text-to-speech speed, notification and reminder settings, reminder time, and the current Firebase user ID for background reminder checks.
Notifications
If notifications are enabled, the App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging and local notifications to send daily word notifications and learning reminders. Firebase Messaging may process a device/app messaging token or similar device identifier to deliver notifications.
Crash and diagnostics data
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to help detect, diagnose, and fix crashes. Crash reports may include crash logs, stack traces, device/app information, operating-system version, and other diagnostic data related to the crash.
Font loading
The App uses Google Fonts. Depending on platform caching and packaging behavior, font assets may be loaded from Google servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not intentionally collect precise or approximate location, contacts, photos or videos, audio recordings, calendar data, SMS or call logs, payment information, health or fitness data, or advertising identifiers for ad targeting. The App does not display third-party advertising.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide the App's vocabulary-learning features, save and sync learning progress, support optional Google sign-in, store custom words and collections, schedule and send notifications and reminders, diagnose crashes and improve reliability, and maintain account and security functionality.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information.
We use third-party service providers to operate the App, including Google Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Sign-In, and Google Fonts. These providers process data on our behalf to provide authentication, storage, notification delivery, crash diagnostics, and related app functionality.
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the App, or others.
Data Retention
We retain account and learning data for as long as needed to provide the App and maintain your learning progress, unless you request deletion or delete specific content in the App. Crash and diagnostic data is retained according to Firebase Crashlytics retention practices. Local settings remain on your device unless you clear App data, uninstall the App, or change the settings.
Account and Data Deletion
To request deletion of your account and personal data, email maxbalychev@gmail.com with the subject “EinWort account deletion request.” If applicable, send the request from or identify the Google account email used with EinWort. Anonymous accounts may require additional information to identify the account.
When processing a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize account-related learning data stored in Firebase, including saved words, review progress, custom words, and collections, unless retention is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons. We may ask for reasonable verification before deleting data.
Security
Data transmitted between the App and Firebase/Google services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. We use Firebase and Google infrastructure to help protect stored data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect user data.
Children's Privacy
EinWort is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
International Users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including by Google/Firebase infrastructure. These countries may have different data-protection laws.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing of your personal information. To make a request, contact maxbalychev@gmail.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
